Floor planing in Copenhagen
Removes deep damage and unevenness and restores a stable, clean, and even floor surface.
How we perform floor planing
We plane floors with great precision, so the surface becomes smooth and without visible marks.
Planing is more demanding than regular sanding because a thicker layer of wood is removed.
Typically, we plane 2 to 4 millimeters off the surface. It may seem like a lot, but it is often necessary to save a floor that is heavily worn.
Our experience ensures that the work is carried out in a controlled manner and without risk of damage.
It is not recommended to plane by yourself, as mistakes can quickly lead to costly and permanent damage.
If too much wood is removed, the boards can become too thin, which in the worst case can cause them to crack. Therefore, planing should always be performed by a professional.
After the work is done
When the floor is planed, we sand it to provide a smooth and even surface.
After that, the floor is ready for new treatment. This can be oil, varnish, soap, or paint depending on the style and finish you desire.
We are happy to help you choose the solution that best fits both the type of wood your floor is made from and the expression of your home.
The goal is a result that looks good and lasts for many years.
Most floors can be saved
Even very worn floors can usually be brought back to a beautiful condition with proper planing, sanding, and finishing.
In most cases, the floor will appear almost as good as new when the process is done correctly.
However, it is important to take good care of the floor afterwards. Too many planings can make the boards weaker over time.
Therefore, we always choose the most gentle method to preserve the wood as much as possible and ensure the floor lasts the longest.
